Gangga River

The Ganges is a trans-boundary river of India and Bangladesh. The 2,525 km (1,569 mi) river rises in the western Himalayas in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, and flows south and east through the Gangetic Plain of North India into Bangladesh, where it empties into the Bay of Bengal. It is the longest river of India and is the second greatest river in the world by water discharge. The Ganges basin is the most heavily populated river basin in the world, with over 400 million people and a population density of about 1,000 inhabitants per square mile (390 /km2).

Lumbinī

Lumbinī 

Lumbinī is a Buddhist pilgrimage site in the Rupandehi district of Nepal. It is the place where Queen Mayadevi gave birth to Siddhartha Gautama, who as the Buddha Gautama founded the Buddhist tradition. The Buddha lived between roughly 563 and 483 BCE. Lumbini is one of four magnets for pilgrimage that sprang up in places pivotal to the life of the Buddha, the others being at Kushinagar, Bodh Gaya and Sarnath.

Lumbini was where the Buddha lived until the age of 29. Lumbini has a number of temples, including the Mayadevi temple, and others under construction. Also located here is the Puskarini or Holy Pond where the Buddha's mother took the ritual dip prior to his birth and where he, too, had his first bath, as well as the remains of Kapilvastu palace. At other sites near Lumbini, earlier Buddhas were, according to tradition, born, achieved ultimate awakening and finally relinquished earthly form.

Nohkalikai Falls

Nohkalikai Falls is the tallest plungewaterfall in India. Its height is 1100 feet (335 metres). The waterfall is located near Cherrapunji, one of the wettest places on Earth. It is also the fourth largest waterfall in the world. Nohkalikai Falls are fed by the rainwater collected on the summit of comparatively small plateau and decrease in power during the dry season in December - February. Below the falls there has formed a plunge pool with unusual green colored water.

Name of the falls (in Khasi language - "Jump of Ka Likai") is linked to a legend about local women Likai who after family tragedy became insane and jumped off the cliff next to the falls.

The Maldives consists of hundreds of paradisiacal islands and coral atolls and are situated off the coasts of Southern Asia's India and Sri Lanka. The majority of these islands are uninhabited, but those that are populated feature either sleepy local settlements surrounded by pristine beaches or first rate international seaside resort hotels.

Snorkeling is almost a national pastime in the Maldives and, although all of the islands' beaches feature sparkling white sand and seas of the purest sapphire blue, there are several resorts and beaches in the Maldives that deserve further inspection. o­ne of these is the Nika Island Resort, which is located about 74km away from the country's capital at Male and which lies o­n an enchanting lagoon. Apart from snorkeling, visitors can also enjoy such diverse water activities as windsurfing, sunset fishing and canoeing.

The Taj Mahal is a white marble mausoleum located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj Mahal is widely recognized as "the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage".
